Each image in this series is shown at a scale where the substrate becomes part of what is seen. Surface, grain, and edge are not incidental — they carry weight.
Nothing here is filler. Every image passed the same threshold: does it belong, at this size, in this sequence? If the answer wavered, it was cut.
